Welcome to the Tahlequah Camera Club

December Meeting

The Tahlequah Camera Club has been active in Tahlequah since 1984.  Our primary goals are to stimulate people’s interest in photography and teach them how to improve the quality of their photographs. We provide a place for people who enjoy photography to share their common interest through conversation and experiences.

As a member of the club you will have the opportunity to see programs dealing with specific areas of photography.  Typical programs would include topics such as digital photography, nature, night photography, composition, lighting, enhancing your pictures, etc.  We encourage members to submit their ideas about programs they would like to see presented.  Every other month our members may submit their images on digital media to be judged by an unbiased, qualified judge for their evaluation and comments.  Not only do you learn from the judge’s suggestions and comments, but this allows you to have fun competing with your fellow members.  We have different categories within our competitions so that each member may compete with only those members having similar photographic skills.  Our competition year runs from April through March.  We have a great group of members who are always willing to help each other when there are questions concerning techniques, equipment or other problems.

We conclude each year with a potluck dinner meeting where we announce the “Image of the Year” in each category.  We also announce the individuals that have earned the “High Points of the Year” in each category.

Again, welcome to our club! We look forward to working together so that we can all become better photographers.
