The Tahlequah Camera Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month. We usually meet at the Tahlequah Public Library. Exceptions are when the library is closed or when we have potluck dinners which are usually in July, December and March and those begin around 6 to 6:30pm. Please contact us for directions. Guests are always welcome.
Meetings start at 7:00pm and usually run to about 9:00pm.
Every other month the Tahlequah Camera Club conducts competitions for its members. Each member turns in up to four images for one of the three classes: Beginner, Advanced and Master. All members can also enter up to four images in the Altered Reality category.
The images are then sent by the competition chairpersons to a qualified judge. The judge records his scores and comments on a recorder which are then played back at the next meeting.
Competitions are held 6 months out of each year (March, May, July, September, November and January) with images being submitted at the monthly meeting. The results of the judging are presented at the following monthly meeting. During the meeting, an outside judge comments on the previous month’s entries. There is also a year-end competition where all the honored images during the year are submitted for judging to determine the “Image of the Year” for each class.
Competition turn-in meetings are also dedicated to special programs featuring club members presenting on a wide range of photography related topics. Programs are announced during the previous meetings, by email, on our Facebook and here on the website.
